lyrics

Sometimes when the sun sets, things don't always seem the same
Sometimes when it's dark the mundane things don't seem as sane

Sleep escaping me, in the tiny hours
When no other soul would care to wake
The moon above, transmitting dark powers
My thoughts of rest, are thoughts that I forsake

Sometimes when the sun sets, things don't always seem the same
Sometimes when it's dark the mundane things don't seem as sane

Bedside spectres, keep me company
Candles sometimes, light themselves
Erie noises, turn to voices
Eyes shimmer, where they shouldn't
And the Shadows, aren't quite themselves

Table floats across the room
Shadows seem to take new forms
Orbs of light floating aimlessly in the gloom

Distant noises Nearby voices
Strange instructions to end my life
Plague me as I try in vain to rest

Need to run, terror fills me
I can't wait another second
Yet somehow something prevents me from fleeing

Morning comes, then i'm more tired
Than the night I just endured
Fatigue keeps compounding from the horrors that transpired

When the day breaks, so much worse off than before
My nights and days; indistinguishable
These visitations, make themselves scarce by the dawn
And by the dawn I find myself feeling more gone
My consciousness so heavily weighted
My panicked longing just to feel sedated
Aside from terror I can't really feel
And at this point I don't even know what's real

Sometimes when the sun sets things don't always seem the same
Sometimes when it's dark the mundane things don't seem as sane

Keeping it together, getting harder
Functional life, mine's retired
As the day wanes, blood starts pumping
Right at nightfall, heart starts thumping
Right at nightfall.... Nightfall

And just like clockwork it all happens again
I collapse from another agonizing day to my bed
Only to find myself gripping the edge
Just wishing for death or for this nightmare to end
